Police have arrested two people Losiati John and Henry Chakaka suspected of murdering a 31- year-old Owen Kajawa in the area of Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe.

Confirming the incidence with the Malawi News Agency (Mana) on Friday, Lilongwe Police Public relations Officer Inspector Kingsley Dandaula said that on Tuesday the suspects allegedly beat up Kajawa for some unknown reasons.

“People who were nearby stopped the suspects from beating up Kajawa and took him to the Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) where he died while getting treatment,” said Dandaula.

The first suspect Losiati John hails from Nguluwe village in the area of Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe and the second suspect Henry Chakaka hails from Mwenda village in the same area.

Dandaula said the body is currently at KCH mortuary pending postmortem and the suspects are in Police custody and will answer charges of murder contrary to section 209 of the penal code.

The deceased person hails from Nguluwe village in the area of traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe.
