Information sourced by faceofMalawi indicates that Nkhoma Community Day Secondary School has been closed indefinitely following a strike staged by students on Sunday destroying school properties worth millions.

According to information at hand, the students went on strike in protest against new policies introduced by the new deputy headmaster at the school.
The students described the policies as infringing.

Nkhoma Synod General Secretary Vasco Kachipapa confirmed of the development in an interview with the Press, saying the move taken by the students was uncalled for.

During the riot, the students destroyed windows for all class room blocks, staff room and the office of the deputy head teacher.

Apart from that, the students also invaded William Murry Secondary School where they smashed about 262 windows.

Meanwhile it is not known as to when the school will be reopened.
