The office of former President has shifted the dates of the arrival of Dr. Joyce Banda who is also founder of opposition People’s Party (PP) from her self-imposed exile to early November.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that Banda will be in the country by today October 28, 2015.

Confirming the changes in an interview, Banda’s personal aide Andekuche Chanthunya said his office will issue a statement when all is set for Banda’s arrival and he urged the general public to be patient.

When pressed for the exact date when Banda will be in the country, Chanthunya denied saying doing so will be compromising the security of former President.

Banda left the country just after the May 20, 2014 tripartite election which saw the then opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika emerging victorious.

Her trip raised a lot of speculations in the country with other people accusing her of running away from the ongoing investigation to the looting of public funds dubbed Cashagte by the media but Banda trashed the claims.

Recently the Party was rocked in leadership squabbles which saw the other faction declaring the country’s former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachale as its new leader replacing Banda but the Party trashed the news.

Meanwhile no one seems to be in charge of the Party.
