Today skinny jeans have become an integral part of every fashionista’s wardrobe but a report claims they can cause serious nerve damage.
People who wear skinny jeans are more likely to suffer from ‘meralgia paresthetica’ according to Dr Karen Boyle from the Greater Baltimore Centre, USA.
“It’s a disorder that occurs when one of the nerves that runs in the outer part of a thigh gets compressed,” Dr Boyle told ABC News.
Wearing high heels with skinny jeans to lengthen the appearance of your legs apparently worsens symptoms because tilting the pelvis increases the pressure.
If you start experiencing symptoms due to wearing skinny jeans, Dr Boyle advices you consider swapping your tight jeans for jeggings or at least jeans with added Lycra to give them some stretch.
If you ignore the pain and continue to wear tight jeans, you could end up with permanent nerve damage.
