Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has labeled President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s 23 minute speech as Zero Plan Speech.

Chakwera said this today in Parliament when he was responding to Mutharika speech during the official opening of the 46th parliament session which will last for four weeks.

In his speech, Chakwera said Mutharika is ruling this country without direction and hope.

Chakwera who has touched on many areas that the opposition MCP feel need urgent attention, added that the DPP led government has succeeded to make history by putting patients on an involuntary fasting programme, a direct reference to reports that most health care facilities do not have adequate food supplies for patients.

On electoral reforms, Chakwera said if government does not bring electoral reforms bill in next seating, the opposition will do it through a private bill.

He said if Malawi went to polls today, the ruling DPP would be booted out. “Except I can’t say the votes will be counted”.

On his part, Opposition People’s Party (PP) leader Uladi Mussa has labeled the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regime as visionless.

On donor withdraw; Mussa challenged Mutharika that PP and MCP if given chance they can bring back donors within a space of a month.
