Information sourced by faceofMalawi indicates that Mulli Brothers Holdings Limited (MBHL) Group Managing Director, Leston Mulli, did not show up for this year’s Mulhako wa Alhomwe festival held on Saturday in Mulanje.

As this was not enough, Mulli’s name was also missing on the list of names of companies and individuals that sponsored the event unlike the past where MBHL subsidiaries could took a lion’s share in bankrolling the cultural grouping.

Some of the names mentioned to have sponsored the event included President Peter Mutharika, Vice President Saulos Chilima, Nyasa Manufacturers, Mapeto David White Head, Export Trading, Kaponji, Kukoma Cooking Oil and Proteins, Airtel and Worldwide.

Information at hand indicates that all is not well with Mulli and the Mutharika family regarding the management of the cultural grouping.

When Daily Times approached comment, Mulli accused the paper of invading his privacy.

“Why should I get questions from you for not attending the Mulhako, you are a child with a corrupted mind. You want me to let you know where I spent my night and where am travelling today. What has it got to do with your newspaper if I do not go to Mulhako?” Mulli was quoted as saying.

On his part, Chairperson for the Publicity Committee, Gift Dulla said Mulli’s absence is not news.

Mulli is one of the founding members of the Mulhako wa Alhomwe.
