DPP COUNCILLOR ARRESTED FOR DEFILING A 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Namilonje ward in Mulanje in west constituency has been arrested for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 16-year-old girl.
Mulanje Police officials confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Biston Kadwere.
According to information at hand, the suspect committed the crime some time back but police failed to arrest him due to Political reason.
It took the intervention of well-wishers in the district who on Thursday took to the street to protest on the matter, forcing the Police to arrest him.
Kadewere appeared in Court on Wednesday where he was granted bail.
The victim (name withheld) was standard six pupil at Mkumeya primary school in the district.
