One of the leading media training in the country, Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) has postponed its 2015 graduation ceremony scheduled for December 4, 2015 at Multi-Purpose Hall.

The development has caused graduating students to express doubt on whether the graduation will be held this year or not as it is for the second time the graduation has been cancelled.

The graduation was earlier scheduled for November 27, 2015 at Comesa Hall in the commercial capital Blantyre and the date was later shifted to December 4.

In a short statement posted on its official Facebook page seen by FaceofMalawi notifying the graduating students in its three campuses (Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu), the management did not explain the reason for the postponement.

“The December 2015 Graduation is postponed up until further notice,” reads the statement.

Speaking to FOM’s reporter, one of the graduating students who opted for anonymity expressed shock over the development, saying the cancellation is a setback to him.

He said he has spent a lot of money in preparing for his graduation.

Another student identified as Andru Andrea Chana commenting on the post said: “n I already purchase a suit…shaaa…apa ndie zavuta..”until further notice”.

Meanwhile it is not known as to when the graduation will be held.
