As Parliament is in its last week of debate, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa is expected to deliver his ministerial statements on the market fires that has of late caused havoc across the country.
Among other things, Nakhumwa is expected to deliver the findings on the investigations instituted by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on the cause of these mysterious fires and the loss the country has suffered as a result of the infernos.
This year alone, the country has registered fire accident in more than five district and most of the incidences have targeted the country’s market with Mzuzu market being the most affected one.
Mzuzu market has been bunt down for three times this year alone and up to now Police are yet to establish the cause of these infernos.
