Two chiefs are in Police custody in Machinga for allegedly being found in possession of two human bones believed to be of an albino boy who died in 1997.

Machinga Police criminal investigator Isaac Mdala confirmed of the arrest in an interview with one of the local media house in the country and identified the two as Village Headman Mvelo and Mkawela.

According to Mdala, the arrest of the two is in connection with Wyson Gerald who was arrest in June this year for allegedly being found in possession of nine human bones at Mkwakwata Trading Centre.

Mdala said the two village head were together with Gerald but escaped Police arrest and all this while were in hiding.

He said Police received a tip last week from well-wishers that they saw village Head Mvelo at his house in Mangochi and Police rushed to the house at night where the arrested him.

When pressed where he got the bones, Mvelo said he exhumed the bones from a graveyard of an albino boy who died in 1997 and was buried in the area.

Meanwhile the Police have arrested Village Head Mponda and his son in connection to the incident.
