United Democratic Front (UDF) 1st Vice President Igbar Omar has been fired from the Party on the grounds that he was forming parallel structures in the Party.

The development comes barely months after his suspension pending the disciplinary hearing on the matter.

UDF spokesperson Ken Ndanga has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According tom Ndanga, the decision to fire him from the Party was made on Friday during a National Executive Committee meeting held at Golden Peackok Hotel.

The meeting was chaired by UDF President Atupele Muluzi and his 2014 presidential running mate Dr. Godfrey Chapola.

Omar is said to have been summoned for disciplinary hearing on several times but he showed unwillingness to appear before the committee.

Meanwhile Omar is yet to respond on the decision made by the Party.
