Lilongwe Magistrate Court has sentenced cashgate convict Esnart Ndovi to 3 years and 3 months imprisonment with hard labour for allegedly laundering K12m from government.
Ndovi pleaded guilty to charges of lending a business certificate for certification and money laundering in November and she her case was adjourned to December 14, 2015 for sentencing.
Delivering his ruling today, the Judge Patrick Chirwa said the Sentence will run consecutively.
Ndovi joins former People’s Party (PP) official Oswald Lutepo who is serving 11-year jail sentence at Chichiri prison in the commercial capital Blantyre.
