Dru Hill agent is in Police custody for allegedly obtaining money amounting to MK2 million from Umodzi Park on false pretence.

The agent identified as Archbald Tugere of South African origin was hired to bring to Malawi an American music group, Dru Hill to perform in the capital Lilongwe on December 12, 2015 but the show was cancelled at the 11th hour.

Umodzi Park sales and marketing manager, Temwa Kanjadza said the show was canceled over disagreement that erupted the agent and the grouping, a development that angered fans who already bought the tickets for the show.

Confirming the arrested, National Police Spokesperson Nicholas Gondwa said Tugere has been arrested on the grounds that he failed to meet contractual terms stipulated in an agreement made between Umodzi Park and his company.

Gondwa said currently he is being kept at Lingazi Police.

The grouping also cancelled trip to South Africa where they were scheduled to perform at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on December 18.
