A former employ for SOS in Lilongwe was on Monday at around 1 O’clock in the afternoon involved in a fatal road accident that claimed her life.
The accident involved a Toyota Sprinter registration number BP 41 and Toyota Hiace registration number MJ 5653.
In the Hiace two people were seriously injured and 16 minor injuries have been all rushed to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) for treatment.
According to the eye witness a vehicle Toyota Sprinter was driven by a woman who was coming from Bwandiro heading to Cashbuild Roundabout along the Paul Kagame Road had a head-on with a Toyota Hiace.
A Traffic Police Officer who was at the scene confirmed to Malawi News Agency (Mana) reporter that the woman (details not yet known) who was driving the Toyota Sprinter died on the spot.
“The accident happened at around 1 O’clock. The woman was overtaking a vehicle in her lane and in the process she met another vehicle a minibus which was coming from town heading towards Bwandiro and had 18 passengers on board,” said the officer.
He said currently they do not have detailed information of the people being referred to KCH.
On Saturday another road accident happened at Immigration junction along the Paul Kagame road where it is believed to have claimed a life.
