Opposition People’s Party (PP) Provincial chairperson for the north Christopher Mzomera Ngwira has been fired from the party for the second time in a space of four months.
Ngwira’s firing comes barely weeks after he threatened to deal with those people who are opposing his agenda to replace the Party’s founder, Dr. Joyce Banda with former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachali.
Both Ngwira and PP spokesperson Ken Msonda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Msonda said Ngwira has been fired for destabilizing the Party.
He is reported to have obtained injunction stopping any party official from executing their duties without his consent.
Banda left the country just after the May 20, 2014 tripartite election which saw the then opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika emerging victorious.
Her trip attracted mixed reaction Malawians with others accusing her of running away from the ongoing investigations to the looting of public funds dubbed cashgate the claims she vehemently denied.
