Former ruling People’s Party (PP) Deputy Director of Social Services Tony Ngalande has resigned from the party citing personal reasons.

According to information at hand, Ngalande is contemplating on joining the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Ngalande confirmed of his resignation on Sunday when he was speaking to the press in the capital Lilongwe.

In a letter addressed to PP Secretary General, Ngalande thanked the Party and its founder Dr. Joyce Banda for grooming him to be leader.

Ngalande’s resignation comes barely days after the resignation of PP’s deputy publicity secretary Moses Kunkuyu

PP spokesperson Ken Msonda confirmed of Ngalande’s resignation, saying the Party is not surprised with his decision.

Meanwhile the Party is currently locked in leadership crisis as other top officials in the Party are challenging the appointment of Uladi Mussa as interim Party President.
