Tension is high in Mangochi as irate villagers in collaboration with community members are moving house to house in search of suspected criminals who are terrorizing the community.
According to information at hand, six suspected criminals have since been arrested since the exercise started on Monday.
Mangochi police publicist Rodrick Maida confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.
Maida said the six suspects have in the past two weeks, been using panga knives and other weapons to rob people of money and some valuable items.
The six suspects have been identified as Rahim Saidi 32, John Champion 34, Chinenga William 23 and Edward Ngaunje.
The fifth suspect is a 15 year old boy, while the sixth is a Mozambican national and his particulars are yet to be established.
According to information at hand, the suspects have named some of the police officers from Mangochi Police as the master minders.
