State house has come out of the cocoon to trash social media reports that it has hired special Jet carrying special doctors at a cost of MK220 million to treat President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, saying the reports are untrue.

The development comes barely days after picture showing Mutharika falling outside Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe while on tree planting exercise, leaving Malawians debating on the health condition of the President.

According to information hovering on the social media seen by FaceofMalawi reporter, indicates that the special doctors landed in the country in the early hours of today.

Commenting on the reports with one of the privately owned radio [Capital FM], Presidential Press Officer Gerald Viola trashed the rumours, saying Mutharika is in good health.

“Malawi government has not hired any foreign doctors to treat Mutharika. We have competent doctors in the country,” Viola was quoted as saying.
Viola said Malawians should not panic describing the recent fall as a minor incident.

Meanwhile unconfirmed reports seen by FOM’s reporter indicate that Mutharika was advised not to attend any public events until his health conditions improve.
