As tension is still high in Neno over the brutal murder of four elderly people accused of witchcraft, Association of Secular Humanism Executive Director George Thindwa has trashed the act, saying the act must not be tolerated in the country.
Thindwa trashed the act in an interview with one of the local radio station on Tuesday, saying he was deeply shocked of the development.
In his speech, Thindwa hinted that killing people suspected of practicing witchcraft is wrong and is a violation of right to life, saying witchcraft does not exist.
The four Eliza Kanjete, 86, Ayelinifa Kanjete, 76, Byson Kanjete, 73 and Idesi Kanjete 69 were beaten to death at Chimbalanga village in chief Dambe’s area in Neno after they were suspected of killing Flora Kanjete, 17, who was struck to death by lightning.
Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection to the brutal murder of the four.
