A 53 year old man is in Police custody in Lunzu for allegedly defiling his own 12 year old daughter.
Police have confirmed of the development in a statement made available to FaceofMalawi, saying the incident occurred on the night of January 30, 2016 at Vicky motel.
According to the Police statement, the suspect identified as Danvan Msiska took his daughter with an aim to buy her clothes.
“When darkness fell they booked two rooms at Vicky Motel but during the night, the suspect entered the victim’s room and undressed her while she was asleep and started the act. The victim woke up due to pain and after pleading with the suspect he left her,” reads in part the statement.
The suspect will appear before court soon to answer the charge of Incest when investigations are completed.
The suspect comes from Isongwe village, Traditional Authority Mwahenga in Rumphi district.
