Dust is refusing to settle in the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) of Blantyre Synod with reports emerging that Reverend Stanley Chimesya who was serving as Prison Chaplain has dismissed from his position.

According to information at hand, Chimesya is going to Nchalo CCAP in the lower shire while his position will be taken up by Reverend Mathero Msatithe of Nchalo.

Blantyre Synod Secretary General Reverend Alex Maulana confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local daily papers on Thursday.
Maulana said the change is with immediate effect.

Chimesya and Maulana were in the forefront fighting for positions within the church and before the elections last year it was revealed that Maulana was being sponsored by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) while Chimesya was sponsored by People’s Party (PP).

Confirming the transfer, Chimesya accused Maulana of being behind his transfer, saying he is being transferred for fighting for corruption at Synod.

Chimesya said Maulana owes the church explanation on the bank overdraft the Synod got from National Bank worth K13 million which they didn’t disclose to church members even moderators.
