Press Corporation Limited (PCL) group Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mathews Chikaonda is set to retire this year after serving the company for 14-years.
According to an advert seen by FaceofMalawi placed in one of the local daily papers in the country, Chikaonda is set to retire in December 31 and the company has entrusted KPMG, an Audit, tax and advisory firm to find a replacement.
The firm is calling upon interest candidates to submit for the post which will close on February 29, 2016.
The conglomerate is listed on Malawi Stoke Exchange (MSE) and London Stoke Exchange.
Before joining the company, Chikaonda served as Assistant Professor of Finance and Associate Professor of Finance (tenured) from 1988 to 1991, and 1992 to 1994, respectively, at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada before serving as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi from August 1994.
In January 1995, Dr Chikaonda was appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi and served in this post until March 2000 when he was appointed to the Cabinet and served in the Government of Malawi as Minister of Finance and Economic Planning until January 2002.
