Controversial Malawi prophet currently based in South Africa Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Church (ECG) on Tuesday reached out to flood victims in Karonga where he donated 3,000 bags to the affected families.
The development comes barely days after Bushiri donated Maize relief to hunger stricken families in Zomba and Lilongwe.
Writing on his official Facebook page after the donation, ECG Public Relations officers Kelvin Sulugwe who also happens to be Bushiri’s spokesperson said the exercise is aimed at helping government in dealing with the hunger situation in the country.
Sulugwe said the exercise will also continue today at Karonga Community Ground.
He said the exercise will be extended to a public hospital in the district as there are reports that patients are receiving one meal per day.
Bushiri’s initiative of assisting those people affected by hunger in the country has been welcomed by many people in the country including politicians.
