Opposition People’s Party (PP) third Vice President for the North Kamlepo has described Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as the only hope for Malawians.

Kalua said this during a jointly rally held in the capital Lilongwe attended by three main opposition Political Parties namely MCP,PP and Alliance for Democracy (Aford) represented by its President Enock Chihana, son to Malawi’s freedom fighter Chakufwa Chihana.

In his speech, Kalua hinted that Malawians are tired of Mutharika’s leadership.

“We are getting a united front for opposition, Dr Chakwera take heart, you are government in waiting,” said Kalua.

The statement was echoed by Chihana who said DPP top brass were enjoying the fruits of democracy which they did not fight for.

On his part, Chakwera said the rally was organized to press the DPP regime under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to provide solutions to some of the challenges rocking the country.

“This is not time for personal goals, this is time for the common good. A burden shared is lighter hence no need for a leader to be shouting kuti ‘alibe problem’ whilst people are languishing in and dying of abject hunger in the villages.

“This is time for all opposition parties to move in one direction with one vision that is to save the situation”, said Chakwera.

This is the first joint rally opposition Political parties in the country have held together in the country.
