Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that a Malawian man was over the weekend set on fire using a paraffin bomb by an Ethiopians in South Africa.

According to media reports from South Africa, the incident happened on Sunday in Johannesburg after they picked a quarrel.

The reports indicates that the victim was rescued by community members who retaliated by attacking an Ethiopian national on the spot.

“Police rescued an Ethiopian national from the community and arrested him on charges of attempted murder. This followed an incident in which a Malawian national who went into the suspect’s shop was allegedly [doused] with paraffin and set alight after an argument; said Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini in a statement.

Meanwhile police are yet to trace the identities of the Malawian currently admitted in hospital
