Member of Parliament for Mulanje South Constituency, Bon Kalindo has trashed calls for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s resignation over the challenges rocking the country, saying the call is uncalled for.
While apologizing to the house for his two weeks absence to due to hunger strike that has hit hard in his constituency, Kalindo said calls for Mutharika’s resignation won’t help matters in the country.
Kalindo said the challenges being experienced in the country are as a result of the plunder of public funds at Capitol Hill during reign of Dr. Joyce Banda which he inherited.
The highly charged kalindo also attributed the hunger crisis in the country to the floods that happened last year.
Turning to calls for the Impeachment of the Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya for siding with his Party in the August House, Kalindo said the calls are baseless.
“Mr Speaker Sir, let me also add my voice to those making calls and plans to impeach or force you to resign that they must go to hell as such calls are baseless.
“I personally like the way you handle business in this house and such calls to have you resign from your positions are irrelevant,” said Kalindo.
Calls for Msowoya’s impeachment is highly being advocated by government MPs, saying he is siding with Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
