The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Esther Mcheka Chilenje will on Saturday, 19th March, 2016 be Guest of Honour at Saint Denis Catholic Church in Chinsapo at Women World Day of Prayers commemoration in Lilongwe.

Confirming the development on Monday to the Malawi News Agency (Mana), the secretary for Lilongwe District Women World Day of Prayers Tracy Masi said the prayers will be held under the theme “Receive Children, Receive Me” and will mark the end of the 2016 commemoration of Women’s World day of Prayers.

“The prayers at Chinsapo will mark the end of the 2016 Women World Day of Prayer; the first prayers were on 4th March in Blantyre, Multipurpose Hall where the Guest of Honour was the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi Gertrude Mutharika, the second prayers were on the 5/6th March in the 25 zones of Lilongwe and the third prayers were on 12th March at the African Bible College where the wife to the country’s Vice President Mary Chilima was the Guest of Honour,” said Masi.

Masi said the prayers will start at 8.00 in the morning and will be held in Chichewa and all believers are invited to the prayers.

She said every year any chosen country is given a chance to come up with a theme and this year the opportunity has been given to Cuba.
