Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Head of Outside Broadcasting Gloria Banda has been fired from her position for publishing malicious documents against the management and the head of state.

The documents which made headlines on the social media accused MBC Director General Aubrey Sumbuleta of messing up the taxpayers MBC and harassing female workers.

According to the letter addressed to Banda signed by Acting Director of Administrative and Corporate Patrick Simango, says the firing is with effect from March 1 2016.

“Exigencies of service require that you should cease performing your duties as Head of Outside Broadcasting with effect from 1st March 2016. This means that you will no longer be responsible for matters pertaining to outside broadcasting in the Programmes Department,” reads in part the letter.

Simango wrote Banda accusing her of writing “malicious documents” against Sumbuleta, the leadership of the country and other fellow members of staff.

The firing comes barely months after Albert Mungomo, a partner to Gloria was also demoted from his positions and replaced by Mzati Nkolokosa.
