Police in Machinga have arrested two men in connection with abduction and beheading of a Nine year old boy with albinism at Mpakati village, Traditional Authority Chikweo February end this year.

Police in Machinga have confirmed the arrest of ten people amongst them are Innocent Lyson Kennedy and Justin Masitala who are suspected to have abduct and beheaded the nine year old on February 26.

Police public Relations Officer, Constable, Davie Sulumba said Police in the district conducted a sweeping exercise at Chikweo, Nyambi, Kapoloma and Ngokwe areas Monday evening where the ten were arrested.

Sulumba said Masitala was also arrested in Mangochi last year for being in possession of bones suspected to be those of a person with albinism.

The court in Mangochi convicted and ordered him to pay a K20, 000.00 fine, according to the Machinga Police publicist.

The police have since placed a murder charge against the two suspects who are all from Kawinga and Nkoola in Machinga.

The other eight suspects were picked for being suspected of house breaking while others for operating a clinic without license.

Before arresting the two suspects, the police in Machinga arrested Elias Chatha in connection with abduction and beheading of the boy a week after.

The suspects are expected to appear before the court soon, according to Machinga Police.
