Following the battle between Kanengo CCAP church in the capital Lilongwe and Livingstonia Synold over the firing of Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango, the Synod on Sunday inducted a new minister.
The ceremony was held at the Lilongwe Teachers Training College where the church has since moved, following the division.
Speaking in an interview after the induction of Reverend Samson Ng’anjo, Livingstonia Synod General Secretary Reverend Levi Nyondo said the development shows that the church is growing in central region.
Mhango was fired from the Church for allegedly refusing a transfer to Euthini in Mzimba.
The development forced congregants to write Livingstonia Synod denouncing their membership.
In retaliation, Livingstonia Synod ordered the congregants to vacate the premises but congregants refused sued the synod.
The development also led to the formation of two camps, the other groups was behind Livingstonia synod while the other group was behind Chimwemwe Mhango.
The group that supported Livingstonia synod vacated the premises and started congregating at Lilongwe TCC while that of Mhango remained at Kanengo CCAP Church.
