Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of Cafe Lounge situated at Chichiri Shopping Mall in the commercial capital Blantyre.
This has been disclosed in a press statement from the bureau post on its official websites today.
According to the statement, Café Lounge has been suspended due to to continuous non compliance to hygienic conditions as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions.
“The MBS wishes to advise the general public against patronizing Cafe Lounge until the hygienic conditions have been improved and the suspension lifted by the MBS,” reads in part the statement.
Recently, MBS also closed down Chibuku products Limited Lilongwe plant, Bakers Pride (New) Bakery (bread and Bun) located in Area 3, behind Lilongwe Post Office due to non compliance to hygienic conditions.
