Following heavy rains that have been pouring in the past two weeks in the Northern district of Karonga, Mzuzu City and some parts of the region, information reaching FaceofMalawi indicates that landslide has occurred at Chiweta.

According to the eyewitness, M1 road connecting Karonga and Mzuzu has been blocked due to landslide making it difficult for vehicles from Mzuzu to Karonga and from Karonga to Mzuzu to pass.
