As communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 15, all Malawians are now able to travel to Indonesia without the requirement of the visa as has been the case in the past.

Speaking to Malawi News Agency (Mana) on Wednesday, Immigration Deputy Publicist, Wellington Chiponde explained that previously, Malawians travelling to Indonesia were required to obtain a visa prior to their departure.

“This is very welcome news in the sense that all Malawians will no longer have hassles of securing or obtaining a visa to travel to Indonesia, hence making business and other related transactions even cheaper and easier.

“We are therefore advising the general public across the country to take heed of the notice. Let everybody take advantage of this visa free facility.

“Despite having the free facility, the general public is further advised to adhere to Immigration rules and regulations as stipulated in the Malawi Immigration Act and furthermore, the facility is not valid for commercial, personal or journalistic purposes,” hinted Chiponde.

According to the Deputy Publicist, the visa free facility is exempting Malawian citizens holding ordinary, service and diplomatic passports who are visiting Republic of Indonesia for a period not exceeding 30 days.mana
