Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that the government is currently working on the move to repatriate the remains of four Malawians short dead in Mozambique and three others who are receiving treatment there.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation Francis Kasaila confirmed of the development in a media briefing held on Thursday in the capital Lilongwe.

He said the government of Malawi is going to foot the bills for the repatriation exercise that his office is waiting for the report from Mozambique on the matter.

The four deceased were among 24 Malawians traveling to South Africa using a lorry and were by unknown gunmen at Catandica in Mozambique.

The survivors who are 17 in total have been repatriated to Malawi through Mwanza border post.

Meanwhile Kasaila has warned Malawians traveling to South Africa to avoid using Tete-Beira route.
