Renowned actor and comedian Eric Mabedi popularly known as Jakobo has trashed rumours hovering on the social media that his colleague John Nyanga, better known as Izeki is dead, saying the reports are untrue.
Nyanga was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) on Monday where he is currently receiving treatment for Tuberculosis.
On Tuesday, the social media was flooded with reports that Izeki was dead and the information attracted mixed reactions with others sending condolence messages to the family.
Speaking in an interview with the press yesterday evening, Mabedi brushed aside the reports.
“I have received so many calls starting yesterday and the phones keep on coming asking me the same.
“People are using the social media for wrong reasons and that is spreading lies. Why spread false information? It’s good to verify information before putting it out,” said Mabedi.
According to Mabedi, Izeki in Ward 3B at QECH receiving treatment and his condition has improved.
Last year Izeki was also admitted at the same hospital and was later released. Since then he has never appeared to the general public.
