Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of Smallholder Tea Factory located in Mulanje and Bakelines Limited located in Kanengo, Lilongwe.
This has been disclosed in a press statement made available to faceofMalawi signed by Devlin Chokazinga.
According to the statement, the two units have been closed down due to continuous non compliance to hygienic conditions as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions.
In a related development, MBS has lifted suspension for Blantyre Metro Bakery and Take Away.
“Members of the general public therefore can patronize this place because the hygienic conditions have been tremendously improved as prescribed in Malawi Standard Number 21; Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions,” reads the statement in part.
MBS for the past months has closed a number of shops due to non compliance to hygienic conditions across the country.
