President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed new diplomats to head Malawi missions in Japan and Zambia.

This has been confirmed in a Press Statement released on Thursday from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Chief Secretary to the President George Mkondiwa.

According to the statement, Mutharika has appointed Mr. Grenenger Msulira Banda as Ambassador to Japan.

The other appointee is Mr. Warren Gunda, director of political affairs in the ministry of Foreign Affairs who is heading to Lusaka as Malawi’s High Commissioner to Zambia.

The two await the confirmation of the National Assembly.
