Leaders of opposition political parties left behind their differences to join President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in the official opening of Reserve Bank of Malawi Mzuzu branch.
Among notable faces that graced the occasion include, former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachali, expelled PP provincial chair for the north Christopher Mzomera Ngwira, and leader of opposition in Parliament Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President.
The highest moment was when Mutharika was accompanied by Kachali descended from the VIP stage to join Chief Mbwelwa in dancing Ingoma from Mzimba district.
Kachali was seen holding Mutharika’s hand to help him descend from the stage.
Since the May 20, 2014 election, PP and DPP officials have not been seeing each other with eye to eye.
PP through its leadership have been on several times accusing the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under President Mutharika of rigging the elections the claims which DPP denied.
Apart from that, PP has on several times accusing the DPP of failing to give former President Dr. Joyce Banda a home to rest.
