Member of Salima Central Felix Jumbe has suspected foul play in the recent seat reshuffle in Parliament especially to the side of Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

The reshuffle has seen Jumbe who is in bad blood with MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also leader of opposition being moved from moved from fourth to the sixth row to occupy seat number 76 from 32.

MCP Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila has been moved from the front row to the sixth row on the party’s benches and is occupying seat number 79 from seat number 1.

Speaking in an interview with the press, Jumbe said he is not conversed with the reason given.

“I was told by our deputy chief whip that the reshuffle has been done to ensure balance in terms of contributions but the reason is irrelevant to me.
“All in all am not bitter with the reshuffle,” said Jumbe.

Effort to talk to Kabwila proved futile.

Meanwhile MCP chief whip maintains his earlier stand that the reshuffle is normal.
