The High Court in Mzuzu has banned traditional doctors from operating in the country, accusing them of perpetrating the killings and abduction of people living with albinism in the country.

Justice Dingiswayo Madise granted the injunction to three people through their lawyer George Kadzipatike on Wednesday.

In the application, the two accused the traditional doctors of being in the forefront in recent killings of people with albinism.

The three also asked Madise to stop media houses in the country advertisements by traditional doctors, saying this is also having a negative impact.

Recently Malawi has experienced a sharp increase in albino killings and many people have accused government of failing to find solutions to the malpractice.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika also appointed a team of expert to travel to Tanzania to learn how to deal with the challenge.
