Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) on June 3, 2016 withdrew services of two invigilators stationed at Mitundu CDSS cluster centre in Lilongwe for negligence.
According to MANEB Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga, the two, a lady and a gentleman, were found basking in the sun while examination was in progress.
In a related development, on 5th June, 2016, MANEB in conjunction with the police withdrew services of a police officer stationed at Chizumulu Health Centre distribution centre.
The officer is said to have left the distribution centre unattended without a reasonable cause.
“The officer, Sergeant Botha, could not be found at his post at 9:30pm on Friday and on Saturday at both 4:20am and 8:30am. He has since been replaced and he will face an internal (police) disciplinary action as per the nature of his job,” reads in part the statement.
Meanwhile two JCE candidates are in police custody for cheating.
