Malawi’s First Lady Gertrude Mutharika will today Wednesday June 8, 2016 participate in a Clean-Up Campaign at Lilongwe Flea Market in Lilongwe as part of Environmental week launched on Monday by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

This has been disclosed in a press statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) signed by Presidential Press Officer Mgeme Kalilani.

“The campaign has been organised by the Department of Environmental Affairs in the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Natural Resources in collaboration with the Beautify Malawi (BEAM) Trust as part of activities to mark this year’s World Environment Day and the National Climate Change Week which was launched by the State President His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Monday June 6, 2016,” reads the statement.

Madam Mutharika is expected to arrive at the Lilongwe Flea Market any time from now.
