The High Court Judge in Lilongwe has given the State and the defence 48 hours to make their final submission in the case involving cashgate convict Caroline Savala before her sentencing.

Judge Fiona Mwale made the order today when court resumed in the capital Lilongwe.

In her ruling, Mwale said the case has dragged for too long and there is no need to delay the case further.

She said she will proceed with the sentencing if the State and the defence fail to comply with the order.

Salava was convicted at her on plea to have siphoned siphoning K84 million earlier this year.
