About 100 Chinese Investors are in the country to attend the first ever Malawi-China Investment Forum and to look at investment opportunities.

Speaking on arrival at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) Monday, Chinese Leader of Delegation Song Wei Ping said the team comprises of economic and trade investors.

He said Malawi is rich in resources and has business investment opportunities and their visit will be a success.

Ping added that the forum will bring more Chinese entrepreneurs and more cooperation.

Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Cliff Chiunda said Chinese Investors will also work with business people in the country as they will exchange notes.

“The Forum will give opportunities to business people in the country as they will join venture and share holdings with Chinese investors,” he explained.

Chiunda added that the forum will focus on the three main sectors which are Industry, Agriculture and Education.

The Malawi-China Investment Forum will be held on Tuesday June 21 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe and the State President Professor Peter Mutharika will officially open it.mana
