A woman identified as Mary Gumbo is in Police custody in Machinga for allegedly offering to buy albino bones.
Machinga Police Public Relations Officer Dave Sulumba confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Sulumba, Gumbo hired two men as Mussa Kachepa and Mohammed James to fetch albino bones or anyone who suffered from Leprosy.
He said the two only managed to exhume bones of someone who suffered from Leprosy and were apprehended with the bones.
Sulumba said the two pleaded guilty when questioned, saying they wanted to sale the bones to Gumbo
Gumbo has been charged with conspiricy to commit a felony contrary to Section 404 of the Penal Code.
