Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has said Eid Mubarak holiday scheduled for Thursday will not affect the administration of this year’s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, saying the exams will continue.

Government through Ministry of Local government and rural development has declared Thursday as Public holiday to allow Muslims across the country celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadhan which started on June 6, 2016.

In a statement made available to FaceofMalawi, MANEB Public Relations Officer Simeon Maganga said instead MSCE candidates will be on break on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) would like to inform candidates, examination administrators and the general public that administration of the 2016 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination will continue during the Thursday public holiday.

“As indicated on the timetable circulated in January this year, candidates have a break on Tuesday, 5th July, and Wednesday, 6th July; and the examination resumes on Thursday, 7th July, 2016,” reads in part the statement.

He added: “All candidates and examination administrators are, therefore, reminded to unfailingly observe the timetable.”

The MSCE examinations will end on July 20, 2016.
