Deliberations in the National Assembly have been extended to next week Friday to allow government finish the remaining business.
Parliament was expected to rise on Friday 8th July 2016 but due to the two holidays of Eid and independence days affected some businesses in the house.
According to deputy leader of the House Kondwani Nankhumwa , Mutharika has also directed that standing orders on meeting times be relooked so that meetings should start from 9:30 am to 5 pm throughout next week.
Parliament when in session meets five days a week with Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 2pm and Friday adjourning at 12.
So far parliament has passed the 2016/17 MK1.14 trillion and other bills.
