Information sourced by FaceofMalawi indicates that pop star Madonna is today expected to meet President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe.
The agenda of the meeting is still sketchy at the moment.
When approached for comment, President Professor Officer Mgeme Kalilani denied commenting on the matter, saying he is not aware of the meeting.
Madonna arrived in the country on Sunday and in the afternoon she toured pediatric surgery and Malawi’s first ever intensive care unit, which is under construction at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
The singer was accompanied by her two children adopted from Malawi, 10-year-olds David and Mercy, and her son Rocco, 15.
The pop star will be in the country for a week and she is also expected to meet Minister of Health Dr. Peter Kumpalume.
