The Blantyre Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic will on Saturday July 16, 2016 ordain eight deacons to priesthood at a ceremony to be held at Limbe Cathedral.
This has been disclosed in a press statement made available to FaceofMalawi signed by the Church Deputy Communications Co-ordinator, Fr Frank Mwinganyama.
According to Father Mwinganyama, the ceremony will be led by His Grace Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa of Blantyre Archdiocese.
He said the ceremony will start at 9am.
“You are all invited to this colourful and historic ceremony. Being an ordination of EIGHT priests punctuality is highly recommended so that we start on time.
“Should you be bringing any special gifts to the newly ordained priests, please label them properly! And please, arrange to be part of this historic event and share this message with as many friends as possible,” reads in part the statement.
To be ordained priests are three diocesan deacons: – Daniel Kambalame from Nkhwai Parish in Chiradzulu,Foster Matope from Namulenga Parish in Mulanje and Davison Salamba from Adorolata-Thyolo Parish in Thyolo.
The other five are Spiritans deacons are James Balala from Ntenje Parish in Blantyre, Damiano Gabriel and Edward Tembo both from Thunga Parish in Thyolo, William Kalande from Ndirande Parish in Blantyre and Lucius Zuze from Chipini Parish in Zomba.
