Edgar Lungu wins Zambia’s election

President Edgar Lungu of Zambia has won re-election.

The electoral commission said he had secured just over fifty-per cent (50.35%) in Thursday’s vote, defeating his main rival, Hakainde Hichilema, who won almost forty-eight per cent (47.67%).

Hakainde Hichilema’s party has accused the commission of fraud.
